Move it! May Day 2 ... and a weigh in.

Wednesday 2 May 2012
Not sure I really want to share with the world how much I weight right now, but being honest with you is being honest with myself. And I have a new benchmark from which I will only see a decrease.

While I work up the courage to record the weight, let me tell you about my successes on day two of Move It! May. Firstly, I'm absolutely thrilled that the Move it May commitment to additional exercise and fitness has been taken by American personal trainer/fitblogger Carissa at http://www.fit2flex.com/. In addition, the challenge has been taken up by people not only in Australia, but in New Zealand and the UK. Move It! May has gone global.

Secondly, I did actually move it more than I wanted to. A lack of sleep the night before left me a little weary. Sore legs from my personal training session the morning before (which became increasingly more sore through the day). Worked an hour longer than I'd planned. I still cycled home - via the shortest route rather than a longer one like I'd promised. Slower than my previous trip, averaging 12.5 kms an hour. To balance this out - I walked down the seven flights of stairs from my apartment to ground floor and back up again. It took 5 minutes but was quite possibly the toughest workout I've had in a while. This needs to be done more often as it seems like it would be a great way to increase cardio fitness.

As an added bonus, I also came in under my calorie goal for the day. I'm happy and content and ready to deal with whatever gets thrown at me on day 3.

PS - My weight well ...
